Mailboxes
Voice Mailboxes can be owned by a person; if this person has an email address set, an email with an attached .wav is sent for each message saved. Each IP Phone normally has a mailbox.
To add a new mailbox:
- Log in to the Mypbxadmin.com web interface.
- Go to Features » Mailboxes.
- Click the "New" button.
- Enter the following:
o A number for the mailbox.
o Optionally a description.
o Optionally a person who owns the mailbox.
o Whether to send the owner an email when a message is received.
o Optionally a backup email address to also notify. For example, this could be a pager service.
o Whether to attach a .wav file of the message for the backup email address.
o Optionally a number to call when a message is received. When answered, the called party is placed in the voicemail menu.
o A PIN to allow you to log into the mailbox.
o Where to forward the call if the caller press 0 during the greeting.
- Click the "Save" button.
- Set any IP Phone, hunt groups, etc, to use the mailbox as desired.
